The 2026 Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) Annual Meeting will take place in person on June 4th-6th, 2026 at the Coffman Memorial Union on the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities campus.
Professor Dost Öngür will be our keynote speaker. He is the William P. and Henry B. Test Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard. His research focuses on clinical course and neuropathology of psychotic disorders. He is also the chairperson of the structure and dimensions subcommittee of the future DSM strategic committee.
The Research and Publication Board has also organized an Invited Address by Dr. Wilson M. Compton, MD, MPE, who serves as the Deputy Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) of the National Institutes of Health – the world’s largest funder of research on health aspects of drug use and addiction. His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion.
The program will feature four symposia focused on the HiTOP across the lifespan, missing pieces in the model, further elucidation of the externalizing spectrum, and suicidal behavior. Two roundtable discussions will target both the future of HiTOP measurement and inclusion criteria for psychopathology features in the model. In addition, there will be a range of individual and poster presentations tackling important topics of foundations and model revisions, measurement, genetics and other mechanisms, youth-related issues, and clinical utility and implementation.
There will be networking and mentoring events available at the conference, including a mentor-mentee breakfast, empowerment lunch, and trainee social event.
We also want to make sure that you are all aware that we will be offering CEcredits for the conference, including if you can only attend virtually. Thus, even if you were unable to submit an abstract this year, we still encourage you to consider attending.
We hope you can join us!
